Wedding Reception Menu

They always say that the best weddings are those that have the best reception food.  If you want your wedding to be every bit of the fantasy nuptial you have been dreaming of, you should be willing to spend on the best possible wedding reception menu there is.

When it comes to planning for the wedding reception menu, most people think that it is enough to hire a great caterer.  While it certainly helps if you have the services of a great catering company, it is equally important that you know exactly what you want to have on the wedding reception menu.

There are certain considerations that you need to make especially when it comes to the personal choices of the guests you invite to your very special day.  Here are some of the key points that you should pay attention to when planning the menu:

Possible Vegetarian Guests. Some people just choose not to eat meat or are forced not to because of certain  medical conditions.  This is something that you should take note of so that you can give guests the option with the entree.  In the RSVP card, you can include a separate check box for their choice in food at the reception.

Beef Versus Chicken. While some people choose not to consume meat at all, there are also those who only eat white meat.  Beef and chicken are two of the most famous types of meat used for reception dishes and you might also want to consider giving your guests the option of which one they want to eat.

Per Plate Versus Per Dish Setting.  If you are going for a sit down luncheon or dinner for the reception, the budget has to be based on the number of guests that will attend.  On the other hand, if you are going buffet style, the allocation will be based on the number of dishes that will be prepared for the reception.

Desserts. A wedding reception is never complete without a heavenly dessert for everyone.  While some couples prefer to share their cake to each guest, others would like to have a different kind of sweet served to the guests.  Creme brulee is one of the richest desserts you should consider serving.  Some couples also prefer to have a miniature version of their wedding cake sent to every table for the guests to share.  There is really a lot of possibilities when it comes to wedding desserts and you ought to at least look at each one and think about it.
