Tying the knot is a major step for two people and as such, it is supposed to be celebrated in such a way that is fitting for a milestone. There are many aspects in a wedding that couples need to prepare for and one of those is the venue for the ceremony as well as the reception.
Wedding reception halls have evolved over the years. They are no longer just hotel functions rooms or stuffy castle-like venues that would cost an arm and leg to rent. Reception halls can be simple rooms transformed into an open space where people can eat, dance, and celebrate.
Choices in wedding reception halls
1. Hotel function rooms – Most large scale weddings are usually held in hotels because the space is expansive and the mood is formal and classy. Renting this type of space might be a little costly so you better be prepared to spend a good amount of money.
2. Public Libraries – Yes, there are certain libraries in the country that allow functions to be held within the premises. Usually, these halls are not very large but they are certainly intimate and extremely romantic so if you are having a smallish wedding where only your closest friends and family are invited, this is one of the best choices in reception halls there is.
3. Outdoor reception halls – These are not halls per se because there are no solid walls around it or a roof on top for that matter. Outdoor reception halls are like make-shift merrymaking tent which were used in the olden times whenever there are very large feasts where everyone is invited. This is a very good choice for when you have an outdoor wedding ceremony but you are not quite confident that the weather will be cooperative.
4. Cruise reception halls – Thinking of getting married on a boat? This is one of the perks of tying the knot on a cruise because everything is decorated and ready to go and all you have to do is show up. Granted, only a few people will be accommodated but the atmosphere is so romantic that it would be worth having only a few people over.
Choosing among the many choices in wedding reception halls is not particularly easy. However, it would be less complicated when you already know what you want and there is a budget set for this aspect of the wedding.
