Wedding Menu
After the ceremony and before the dancing is the part where the eating and drinking will commence. The wedding menu is a very important aspect of the whole event which entails a great deal of preparation. The first thing you need to decide on is what kind of food you want to be served.
If you are going with a themed wedding, it generally follows that you have a similar theme on the food that you are going to serve. However, this proves to be an arrangement that is not very plausible, you can always have something else prepared.
Here are some of the winning dishes that you can choose from for your wedding menu:
Appetizers
Whether you are going with buffet or formal dining, you can never go wrong with serving appetizers. Crab or salmon puffs are quite the crowd pleaser but they can be a little costly. Also, you have to make sure that the seafood used is fresh and safe.
If puffs are less appealing to you, there are also hors D’oeuvres for appetizers. You can go either way but there has to be some sort of a prelude to the entree that is to be served.
Main course
While you can never beat chicken in gatherings you should keep your options open. There are some wonderful fish courses that you can also consider for your guests who do not eat meat. Pasta is also a very good alternative for vegetarians or vegans.
Rabbit and beef are also very popular for weddings although you have to make certain that the meat is of high quality and the dish would be acceptable for most guests. Serving foods that are too greasy or too saucy is a big no-no, although you can always serve soup instead of salad especially when you are getting married in the fall or in the dead of winter.
Dessert
There are so many dessert choices for weddings so if you have not much time to nitpick, you might want to consider having a dessert bar where the guests can choose their dessert of choice.
You may also opt to have a miniature wedding cake in every table so you do not have to cut your wedding cake at the reception. This can be a little heavy on the budget but it certainly is a smashing highlight that will be remembered years after your wedding.
