Hawaiian Wedding Theme Ideas

There are many wedding themes that soon to be married couples can choose from and one of the most popular choices is a Hawaiian wedding which also happens to be one of the easiest to plan for.

If you have not yet decided on which theme you want for your big day, you should definitely consider a Hawaiian wedding as it has a whimsical nature and there is so much that you can do to make it more intimate.

Location

Contrary to public knowledge, Hawaiian theme nuptials do not always have to be held on the beach.  You have the option of doing the ceremony as well as the reception in a decent hotel where there is a huge pool side.  This way, you can avoid the hassle of dealing with sand and waves.  Plus, it would be cheaper than renting space on the beach.

Attire

The best part about Hawaiian weddings is that you can have the best time with your friends and family without having to spend too much especially on the attire of the entourage.  Bridesmaids and groomsmen can come in plain white cotton dresses and floral shirts respectively.  There will be less worrying about dresses and tux getting wrinkled so the stress levels can be way down.

As for the bridal attire, there are silk and cotton options which are so comfortable and more importantly, very affordable.  If you will opt to have the wedding on the beach, you might want to choose to wear something that is not too long in order to avoid contact with the sand.

Accessories

Hawaiian inspired weddings are not complete without accessories such as necklaces made of flowers and seashell bracelets/anklets, etc.  The day will be so fruity and colorful that it would be a masterpiece on photos.

The guests and what they are wearing will form part of the decoration for the day.  The more authentic it is, better.

Menu for a Hawaiian Wedding

Just because you are having a luau party does not mean you can only serve fruits and shakes.  You can still serve food that is normally served at weddings.  However, you can be a lot less formal as you can opt for a buffet setting and prepare food that people will actually appreciate having at a wedding.  Hot wings and crab puffs are not unheard of and if you really want to go all out, you can also have a seafood platter that would be a great crowd pleaser.
