Garden Wedding Ideas
A garden wedding is one of the most popular choices in themes and for good reason. There is nothing more romantic that being in a beautiful natural scenery with your better half and everyone who is important in your life. Understanding the elements of this kind of theme would make it easier to plan for it and make adjustments according to your specific preferences.
Location
One of the most important aspects of a garden wedding is the venue for the ceremony and the reception. For the most part, this is supposed to be an outdoor event. However, because of certain awful experiences of some couples who have done a garden wedding in the past, couples these days opt for indoor types.
“How is this possible?”, you might ask. There are indoor gardens which you can rent for this type of event. These indoor gardens look just like any other garden except that they are covered by a dedicated roof which will protect the people from getting wet in case it rains or if it becomes too hot.
Wedding Dress Choices
Brides usually choose dresses that would make them look like royal princesses which would really be fitting for garden weddings as well. However, other brides to be also consider dresses that are not as princess-like but are still very elegant and downright regal.
You might want to choose a dress that is not too long and does not have too much lace especially since you will be walking on grass. Wearing flats should also be considered as you will be dealing with a little bit of mud on the ground. Silk is a good choice as well as chiffon as long as the length is appropriate and will not cause tripping or falling down.
Decor
There is not much else to do when you already have a great location. The reception venue will most likely be in a garden as well so there is only a minimal need to decorating i.e. reception tables, etc.
Speaking of reception, having an ice sculpture might not be a very good idea especially if you are having the ceremony after 7am and before 6pm. Chances are, it will melt before everyone has the chance to fully appreciate it.
Food
The choice of food can be anything that you like as long as they are prepared well and presented even better. Eggs and other foods that go bad fast should be off the list if you will have the ceremony while the sun is still out. You would not want people getting ill because of foods that have been baking under the sun for too long.
Music
Make sure that you hire a band or a string quartet that will loud enough for everyone to hear and dance to.
