Fall Weddings

Planning for the most important day of your life can become a daunting task with all the preparations that need to be done and details that need to be hammered out. It pays to have a sense of direction when it comes to putting together a very elaborate event such as a wedding.

The first thing you need to decide on is the theme of the wedding, which would be greatly influenced by the season. One of the most popular themes these days are fall weddings. The weather would be just perfect for the celebration and the symbolic falling of the leaves would grace your very special day with the kind of positive aura that is very powerful.

Fall weddings, just like all other types of weddings need to be prepared months ahead. In fact, if you really want to give every single detail of the day planned down to the centimeter, you need to start preparing on the first day of spring.

Wedding Dress

This is one of the most crucial decisions that you will ever have to make. Most brides spend a lot of time trying to pick out the perfect dress. In deference to the season, you might want to choose a dress that will keep you warm during the ceremony as well as the reception especially if you plan to have an outdoor wedding.
White wedding gowns are still very much acceptable but if you want to be whimsical and different, you can wear something that is not quite as white as most traditional brides would wear.
A Victorian off white wedding gown would be just perfect for an outdoor ceremony. Something strapless or an empire cut would also be suitable. Whatever you choose to wear, just make certain it is something comfortable since you would be wearing it for hours.

Location

When it comes to fall weddings, nothing beats the outdoors as the primary choice for location. Nature is on the verge of changing its colors and there is nothing more fitting than such metamorphosis to represent this new phase in your life. However, if there are certain weather considerations that need to be factored in, you might want to have a back up location just in case.
Gazebos are also very popular these days especially for smallish weddings where only the closest family and friends are invited. It is very intimate but still fun and whimsical.

Food and entertainment

A wedding will not be complete without a reception where the guests can eat, dance, and drink, although not necessarily in that order. There is always the buffet style of service which is a very popular choice especially for big weddings (anything more than 50 guests is a big wedding).

For more formal receptions, you have to consider giving the guests a choice between chicken and fish or whatever else you have in mind that is worth serving. Let your guests RSVP at their earliest convenience.
There can be no dancing without music so it is imperative that you make a choice in what kind of tunes you want to be played. There is always the string quartet for more melodic tunes or a swing band so you can lead a conga line and allow people to dance as opposed to sway.

Fall weddings can be great as long as they are planned well. Gather all your thoughts and ideas, put them in writing, and get all the help you can to make this day the most wonderful and meaningful one yet.
