English Country Weddings

The English has always been known for their class and being perspicacious among other things.  They are also known for having some of the best wedding themes there is.  Whether you are English or not, you can certainly appreciate the type of weddings that their culture have imparted to the rest of the world and an English themed wedding is certainly one to think about.

English Country Weddings

When it comes to English weddings, the best ones are those held outdoors, especially in the countryside.  If you do not want your wedding to be too cliche or stuffy, this is  one of the better choices.

As far as planning goes, there would be a lot of room for creativity starting with decor down to the menu.  However, you should first settle on which venue you would prefer.  For the most part, English country weddings are held in gardens near great falls or any body of water.

If you are not comfortable being too close to the water, you can also choose a hillside as the grounds for the ceremony.  As for the reception, you will need to find a more flat are because you will need to set tables, chairs, and breakables.

Food and Decor

English country weddings must have at least a touch of English cuisine.  If you do not want to go to fancy with the menu, you can mix and match dishes so that it would turn out like a very nice feast for the palate without the unnecessary extra cost (that is, if you are working on a shoestring wedding budget).

English roses, tulips, and orchids would go well with the theme of the wedding.  Tea roses would make for perfect bouquets and blue tulips would be great for centerpieces.  Make sure that the florist you hire for the event knows exactly what your theme is so that the proper cuts and measurements will be taken into account.

Music

Ballads and love songs will be perfect for English country weddings but then again you can always choose to go a different way depending on your taste.  Some couples are not too big on sentimental music so they choose to be a little bit more creative with the tunes especially during the reception.

String quartets go well for authentic English country weddings especially since  the event will be held outdoors.

Always have a back up plan for when the weather gets out of hand.  Make sure there are tents standing by so that there are sheds for you and the guests in case it rains.
