Choosing Wedding Colors for the Season

During the planning stage of every wedding, there comes a point where you just want to throw in the towel because of the stress caused by too many choices to make. Among the decisions that you need to make is regarding wedding colors for the event.

Which color palate is most appropriate?

When choosing the wedding colors for your big day, you should first determine which season you will tie the knot. Each season carries a tone that you would adhere to or at least serve as a guideline for finalizing the hues for the wedding.

Summer colors

The wedding colors for summer leans toward earth and neutral tones. If you are planning on having a summer wedding, you might want to consider wearing a dress that is not a flowing white gown. Summer is the time when you can be especially adventurous so go ahead and plan using cool colors such as lavender and beach blue for flowers, centrepieces, entourage attire, etc.

Spring colors

While green is a very obvious choice for spring weddings, you can experiment more using fresh colors such as yellow and pink. The theme is centered on fresh looking hues so you have to make it light on the eyes as opposed to stunning and overstated.

Fall colors

For fall weddings, you need to use more rich browns and deep reds to make the occasion seem warmer and less sombre. Fall wedding colors should be more dramatic yet beautifully understated. Concentrate on having flowers that have the best appeal such as mums and fully bloomed roses because these would divert the attention from the falling leaves that is undoubtedly depressing.

Winter colors

This is the time to really get adventurous. You should look into the brightest and hottest color palates you can find. Combining hues will also be favorable especially when it comes to the decor for the hall or venue where the reception will be held. In all, you should be able to pull off a very elegant and fabulous looking event which would be anything but cold and gray.

When you make the choice for your wedding colors, it is very important that you base your decision on what is most comfortable for you. Certainly, the basic guidelines for color choices will give you a much needed perspective but in the end, it will be up to you to decide which would make you feel best about the occasion. After all, it is your big day and you should get what you want most.
