Bargain Weddings
Getting married but have very limited resources? This is something that a lot of engaged couples worry about but the good news is that you really do not need that much money to have a great wedding.
Bargain weddings might be two words that modern brides and grooms are not very attracted to but the truth is that they can actually turn out really good if only creativity and resourcefulness will be at work.
Ways to achieve a bargain wedding
- Do everything on your own. Weddings usually entail hiring people especially in the planning stage which makes up for most of the expenses. Start with the wedding invites which you can easily design and print out at home. This way you do not have to go to a printer.
- Choose a less prestigious dress/tux. Brides and grooms naturally would want to look dazzling on their wedding day but those labeled couture are not exactly priced like off the rack clothing. There are vintage shops that sell very affordable and stylish wedding attire and all that is needed from you is to take time to look for the most appropriate ones to wear for the ceremony.
- Invite no more than 20 people. Having too many guests would mean too many people to prepare food and drinks for. Make sure that you only extend invites to immediate family members as well as closest friends.
- Get other people, like your friends and family, to help out. There are things that you will need help with such as the decorations, music, food, etc and it is wise to seek help from those who would be willing to lend a hand. Planning a wedding all on your own is a herculean task that you should not have to bear all on your own.
- Have the ceremony and reception somewhere affordable. In fact, these days, it is completely acceptable for wedding ceremonies to be held in the residence of the bride and groom. Another option is if you have a friend or relative who has a bigger and nicer looking place that would be willing to let you have the ceremony and reception there.
Bargain weddings can still be nice, solemn, and classy. When your budget is tight, you can make up for it by tapping all other available resources you have at your disposal.
