Backyard Weddings

So you have decided to take the plunge and get hitched but you have a little bit of a problem with your finances and you cannot afford a lavish wedding.  You should not get disappointed just yet because there are ways to have the dream wedding you have always wanted without the exorbitant expenses.

A backyard wedding would be a perfect choice for a very small and intimate wedding.  Putting this kind of wedding together is a breeze whether you hire professional help or not.  The ceremony and reception can be done in the same location which means there is very little decoration required for the event.

Spotting a Location

If you are currently living in the suburbs, it will not be too hard to find backyard space at all.  If you already have a home which has backyard space, it would be so much better.  You can also ask relatives or very close friends to allow you to hold the event at their place and treat it as a wedding gift for you.

You can also rent a very small garden space in a hotel if you live in the city and cannot find a decent backyard where you can have the wedding.  The important thing to concentrate on is the wedding decor to make the venue more festive.  Flowers are in order as well as the covers for the chairs since the event is outdoors.
Simple and Filling Menu

The secret to pulling off a really nice but budget friendly wedding is planning the menu well.  For starters, you have to make sure that your guests have the choice between two main courses.  Chicken and beef would make great choices for the entree but you can also be a little adventurous and opt to serve pork or rabbit.

Hire a caterer who can stick to a budget without sacrificing the quality of the entire menu.  If you work with the right catering company, you can get away with spending no more than $50 per guest.

A well decorated wedding cake is also in order.  If there is one thing that you can’t not have for backyard weddings, it is a centerpiece of sugary goodness.  You might not have to spend a lot on the decor but when it comes to the wedding cake, you should consider splurging just a little.

Fondant iced cakes are good but you might also want to consider chocolate ganache as it is richer taste and design.
